Spartanburg Alcohol And Drug Abuse Commission
INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at the SADAC is a service provided to individuals who are in need of more than "traditional - one time per week" treatment. Typically, these individuals are diagnosed as dependent on alcohol and/or another drug.

A less intrusive level of care, as opposed to inpatient treatment, the IOP allows the individual to remain in the community and place of employment or school while in treatment. Also, because the individual is allowed to be in their "normal living environment" while in treatment, they are able to utilize the education and new coping strategies learned in IOP while remaining in a supportive treatment relationship.
