Goal...

To increase healthy beliefs and lifestyles of Spartanburg County residents through the implementation of effective prevention programs and community awareness strategies.

The Prevention Resource Center's activities are guided by an Advisory Board comprised of local agencies and organizations. The PRC targets many community problems through education and prevention services. Some of these include:

issues related to alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse,
the prevention of teenage pregnancy, positive youth development, mental health issues, peer pressure/conflict resolution, wellness and health promotion, community skill building.

To develop community capacity to eliminate the spread of HIV infection among high risk youth, men at risk, and women at risk in Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union counties.



The HIV Interagency Prevention Collaboration is funded by SCDHEC, Division of STD/HIV through CDC Program Announcement 99004.
