What Is Our Employee Assistance Program?

ASSISTANCE IS OUR MIDDLE NAME

From day-to-day routine to life changing moments, most of life's challenges and opportunities are handled with the resources at hand. Occasionally, in spite of hard work and the best intentions, some challenges persist; sometimes they even get worse. Whether it is a struggle with addiction, a deep personal loss, an issue at work, or an ongoing issue about who washes the dishes, recurring and/or unresolved issues are not likely to get better by themselves. Sometimes even friends and family cannot help, they might even be part of the problem. If you need help through a crisis, or want to learn new ways to deal with a recurring life issue, your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is just a phone call away. EAP services are free, convenient and confidential.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

The request for help may come directly from an employee or an employee’s family member. Just call 596-2253 and request an appointment time. (Clients are expected to notify the EAP office at least 24 hours in advance, if a scheduled appointment cannot be kept.) Confidentiality is assured and no one need know of your participation in the program. In the event of a job performance problem, a supervisor may refer an employee to the program.

CONFIDENTIALITY IS ESSENTIAL

The EAP is designed to offer services confidentially. Since no client-specific information is needed for billing, there are no claim forms to complete. Program reports contain only statistical data such as the number of people served and the number of sessions provided.

What Is The Purpose Of The EAP?

You and your family may be confronted with problems that can affect your lives at home or at work...problems that upset and distract you. They may not even be YOUR immediate problems, but rather one involving your husband or wife, your parents or children. Sometimes these problems become too much to handle and they affect personal happiness, family relations, performance at work, and even health.

Your company understands this. When problems are solved early, or when they can be prevented...everyone benefits. This EAP has been selected to offer options for resolving problems, and it seeks to improve the quality of life through information, education, or training.

Who Is Eligible For EAP Services?

All the company's employees are eligible for these services. This includes full-time employees who are off work due to accident or illness but still on the payroll. In addition, any employee's dependents are also eligible - spouse and children ages 11-18 who are covered by the company medical plan.

EAP does not treat children under the age of 11 but can give referrals to agencies that treat children.

What Will It Cost Me Or My Family To Use The EAP Program?

There is no charge to you or your family members for a limited number of sessions per family unit for the services PROVIDED BY YOUR EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

Problem evaluation, appropriate and voluntary referral, follow-up case management and crisis counseling are benefits paid by the company. If you and/or an eligible family member chooses to accept a referral from your EAP to an outside helping resource, your medical insurance and/or other personal insurance can be used. Regardless of insurance coverage, EVERY EFFORT will be made to aid you in obtaining services at the lowest cost.
