MONITORED WITHDRAWAL FROM ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUGS
Program Description
The Spartanburg Detoxification Center is a short term (3 to 5 days) social setting program designed to detox and physically stabilize individuals who have been abusing alcohol and/or other drugs and to educate, motivate and refer clients to further appropriate treatment services. This facility is a 15 bed unit open to both males and females at least 18 years of age. The cost of the program is $200.00 per day but no individual will be turned away due to an inability to pay.
Who Is Eligible?
Individuals eligible for admission must meet ASAM PPC2 criteria. This admission criteria includes:
a) Individual is either intoxicated or has recently stopped using alcohol and/or other drugs and is subject to experience withdrawal symptoms.
b) Individual exhibits moderately elevated psychomotor activity, mild to moderate substance use withdrawal symptoms such as irritability, nausea, mild tremors, malaise, sweating, vomiting or diarrhea.
c) Individual is not exhibiting medically dangerous withdrawal symptoms (unstable vital signs, seizures, or D.T.'s).
d) Individual is not suffering from acute mental illness of a nature likely to endanger himself or others.
e) Individual has a commitment to appropriate treatment as determined by initial and ongoing assessment and abides by facility rules.
Services Available
The minimum services offered at the center include: screening and intake, medical evaluation, monitored plan for supervised withdrawal, complete biopsychosocial assessment, individual treatment planning, structured schedule, 12-step recovery meetings, health education, room and board,and referral service.
